Your new Oswald home starts with a conversation; a getting-to-know-you chat that gives your Oswald designer those all-important insights into what you like in a home, what you need, and what your ideal home looks and feels like. Whether you’re planning to demolish and build, have a block in mind or haven’t yet found your perfect location, this first conversation is where your unique Oswald experience starts.
To help us understand your design brief, we’ll take a look at your block (or help you find one, if you’d like us to) so that we can start to get a feel for the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.
We can take a clean sheet of paper and start sketching a design from scratch, or we can use one of our existing designs as inspiration. Either way, we’ll consider every aspect of your new home, from the fundamentals of the layout and the accommodation you need, to your favourite style inspirations. We’ll find out what street appeal means to you and we’ll put it all in the context of the area you plan to build in. Each and every element will be meticulously considered, evaluated and detailed.
Your one-of-a-kind Oswald design will evolve over time, as we commit ideas and inspiration to paper. Together we’ll pour over your scrapbooks, Pinterest boards and Houzz favourites, drawing on our own award-winning design skills and experience to visualise a bespoke home that meets your budget, as well as all your expectations.
As your very own custom design takes shape, we’ll use our state-of-the-art 3D modelling and virtual reality software to give you an exciting peek into the future. Experience your new home’s beautiful light-filled spaces well before we start laying the first bricks, and enjoy seeing its unique features and finishes spring to life thanks to our boundary-pushing technology. All this will be supported by a comprehensive construction quote so you know exactly where you stand on build costs, as well all the finishing touches.
While we take care of all the necessary building permits and planning approvals, you’ll be free to focus on the finer details of your new home. Working hand in hand with your project manager/interior designer, you’ll be guided through the selections that will help define and reinforce the home’s style. It’s so much more than simply choosing a colour palette from a mood board.
In the meantime, our team will be working behind the scenes so that once all the necessary council approvals are in place we’ll be ready to start building. They’ll be taking care of all the paperwork, documenting your selections, drawing up the building contracts and fine-tuning the working drawings to reflect all your selections.
You may have been inspired by an idea you’ve seen in the Oswald showroom or in one of our displays. Maybe it’s a feature you spotted on your travels or online, or one that you’ve designed yourself. Bespoke built-in bookcase? Classic Georgian detailing? Hamptons-style wainscoting? Monochrome colour palette? Grandma’s retro dining table? Whatever the idea or inspiration, whatever the style, classic or contemporary, we’ll work with our trusted trades and suppliers to make it happen.
You’ve taken a virtual tour of your new home and you’ve chosen all the fixtures, features and finishes. Now it’s time for the vision to become a reality under the watchful eye of our small team of long-serving construction supervisors, who are all building practitioners in their own right. Your project manager will outline what to expect when, keeping you up to date with progress on site as construction moves from one stage to the next. It’s exciting to see your new home come to life, so we’ll also introduce you to your construction supervisor, who you can regularly meet on site to see how the build is progressing.
Behind the scenes, your project manager will also be keeping you up to date with progress on site as construction moves from one stage to the next. They’ll be on hand to answer any questions you have and will keep things running smoothly back at base so that work on site can continue as smoothly as possible, and any issues that do crop up can be dealt with effectively and efficiently.
Your new Oswald home may be individual, designed and built to your exacting standards and specification, but you can still be secure in the knowledge that it comes with our Statutory Six-Year Warranty and Oswald’s own comprehensive maintenance period. What’s more, it will have been built to the first-class standards we promised you when we had that very first conversation and started sketching out your design.
Every Oswald build is different. And every home that Oswald builds is different.
And that’s just the way you like it.
